Job description

Key Responsibilities:

•  Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and guidelines for materials used in renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of material suppliers to evaluate their quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and product quality.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to establish quality requirements for materials and suppliers, including specifications, testing protocols, and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor and analyze material quality data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
• Work closely with engineering and project management teams to review material specifications, resolve quality issues, and ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines.
• Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on quality assurance procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in quality performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
• Maintain documentation and records related to material quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, supplier certifications, and quality control documentation.
• Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customers, regarding material quality issues and compliance matters.
• Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting material quality assurance in the renewable energy sector, and proactively incorporate relevant updates into company practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with a focus on material quality assurance in the renewable energy or related industry.
• Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of materials commonly used in renewable energy projects, including metals, composites, polymers, and electronic components.
• Experience in conducting supplier audits, quality inspections, and root cause analysis investigations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and implement quality initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to material quality assurance in the renewable energy sector, such as IEC, UL, ASTM, and ANSI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus.
