Mr. Vineet Mittal, a distinguished alumnus of Harvard Business School, is a serial entrepreneur known for his remarkable success in the fields of Information Technology (IT) services and Green Energy.
In 2010, Mr. Mittal founded Welspun Energy, which swiftly became a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector, boasting an impressive 1.2 GW of installed capacity. Thereafter, he strategically transferred ownership of the company to Tata Power in 2016, with a valuation of US $1.4 billion.
In his Unwavering commitment to clean energy, Mr. Mittal launched Avaada Energy in 2017, which later evolved into the Avaada Group , India’s leading integrated energy conglomerate. Its operations encompass Renewable Energy, Solar PV Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen & Its Derivatives like Green Ammonia, Green Methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
Avaada Energy, the flagship entity of Avaada Group, is India’s prominent renewable energy independent power producer (IPP). Within five years of its incorporation, it hads amassed an impressive portfolio and set ambitious targets to reach 11 GW of capacity by 2026 and an 30 GW by 2030. Ms. Sindoor Mittal, Vice Chairperson, Avaada Group, is at the forefront of the global shift towards renewable energy. She is a core member of the leadership team at Avaada Group, India’s leading energy transition company, championing the Net Zero Mission of the Government of India.
A graduate of Stanford Graduate School and ISB-Hyderabad, Ms. Mittal is dedicatedly working towards establishing a sustainable world for future generations, which is in sync with the green energy solutions advocated by Avaada.
Ms. Mittal’s role at Avaada focuses on strategy, leadership development and fundraising. Avaada has had a marquee list of investors like ADB, Proparco, Brookfield Renewable and the PTT Group from Thailand.
In her previous role as Director of Welspun Energy, Ms. Mittal drove the company’s green energy agenda and spearheaded its solar business. She played a vital role in raising equity for the company and successfully handled the sale of the organization’s ~1140 MW renewable portfolio to Tata Power.
Ms. Mittal actively participates in the company’s CSR initiatives, which prioritize the education of girls, implementation of environmentally friendly practices, and healthcare provision to the communities where Avaada operates. She relentlessly pursues the belief that India can speed up its growth by encouraging greater economic participation of women.
A well-known name in the industry, Ms. Mittal, a well-known name in the industry, frequently serves as a keynote speaker at prominent forums. She has addressed in events such as RE-INVEST, Economic Times’ Global Business Summit, IFC’s Climate Business Forum, among others. Ms. Mittal was conferred with the “AsiaOne Young Asian Entrepreneurs 2019-20” and the “Women Leader of the Year- 2018” award.
T.R. Kishor Nair is a veteran of in the energy sector, with about four decades of unparalleled experience in Business Development, Project Management, and Strategic Planning for both domestic and international energy projects.
As one of Avaada’s early member, Mr. Nair has been with Avaada Group since its inception. He is presently the CEO of Avaada Energy- , the renewable energy arm of the group. Under his leadership, Avaada Energy has grown significantly and achieved an operational capacity greater than 4 GW in just over five years. With an additional 6 GW project under implementation, Avaada Energy is well poised to achieve its targets of 11 GW by 2026 and 30 GW by 2030.
Mr. Nair’s expertise has been instrumental in driving policy advocacy and raising industry concerns with both State and Federal Government for the renewable energy sector. He has extended his influence beyond the domestic market by representing the industry at many international business delegations and speaking at many domestic and international events. Mr. Nair is a veteran in renewable power industry and speaks quite regularly in various industry forums including CII, FICCI, SPDA etc. He has officiated as co-chair of the Renewable energy council of ASSOCHAM and Co-Chair of – the FICCI Renewable Energy Developers Task Force.
Prior joining Avaada Group, he had led major infrastructure projects with distinguished firms like NTPC, Bechtel, Reliance, and Welspun Energy, each renowned in its respective sector. He also provided strong leadership to the EPC division of Reliance Power in Bagging and executing various Mega power projects including UMPPs on a Turnkey basis. These projects created new benchmarks in the power industry for cost leadership and fast-track execution. Throughout his tenure in Bechtel, he carries significant international experience in Project Management in various business lines such as Power, Mining & Metals, and Petrochemicals.
Mr. Nair started his career with NTPC in the year 1984 and was involved in project management of coal and gas-based thermal power projects and of EHV & HVDC transmission lines.
Mr. Nair is widely recognized in the power industry, with diverse experience in the development and execution of many complex projects, ranging from supercritical to mega and Ultra mega projects under challenging time constraints and environmental challenges.
Ramesh Nair is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, boasting an unparalleled three-decade-long career marked by remarkable accomplishments in Solar Manufacturing, Supply Chain Solutions, and Hydrogen Solutions, consistently demonstrating exceptional expertise and a deep understanding of the industry.
Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Avaada Group, Mr. Nair spearheads the solar manufacturing division, overseeing critical aspects such as cell manufacturing, module manufacturing, ingot manufacturing, and wafer manufacturing. His strategic vision and strong leadership have played a pivotal role in driving the company’s success and establishing it as a prominent player in the renewable energy space.
Prior to joining Avaada Group, Mr. Nair served as the CEO of Adani Solar, where he was instrumental in setting up a robust 1.2 GW cell and module manufacturing business and its ecosystem. Under his guidance, the capacity expanded significantly, to reach an impressive 3.5 GW by 2022. His exceptional skills in corporate governance have earned him a reputation for delivering consistent and sustainable growth.
Throughout his career, Mr. Nair has showcased his versatility and business acumen by serving as CEO and on the boards of esteemed organizations such as Jindal Stainless Limited, Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), and Sterlite Copper and MALCO. His contributions have been invaluable in shaping the strategic direction and enhancing the performance of these companies.
Mr. Nair holds a B.Tech (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from REC, Kurukshetra, and a PG Diploma in Financial Management from IGNOU School of Management Studies in 1997.
Rajat Gupta, a charted accountant by trade, has three decades of diverse experience across manufacturing & infrastructure sectors including renewable energy, telecom services, thermal power, healthcare, and real estate. Mr. Gupta oversees is the financial division and is the Chief Financial Officer of Avaada Group. He has excellent experience working in huge conglomerates, start-ups, brownfield and greenfield projects, and businesses owned or backed by private equity.
With his entrepreneurial approach towards setting up and scaling businesses, he also possesses deep fund-raising experience & long track record for both, equity as well as debt capital from global & domestic capital providers, business & corporate restructuring and M&A. He is known for his ability in navigate complexity and drive business performance.
He has also handled the entire gamut of asset monetization initiatives including public market listings, demergers, and sale of businesses.
During his long professional journey, he has been associated with leading organisations including renewable energy platforms set up by Actis – Sprng Energy & Ostro Energy, Avantha Group, Welspun Energy, Max India, E&Y amongst others.
Mr. Vinoo George, a seasoned professional with over four decades of experience, heads the Manufacturing vertical as President at Avaada Group. His industry experience spans across diverse verticals like Manufacturing, Project Management, Sourcing, and International Business Development. He has been instrumental in the organization’s growth journey.
Mr. George is an unparalleled expert in building pipelines and developing large-scale projects and has been well-equipped in building strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring access to the best materials and technologies available. He oversees all aspects of the manufacturing operation, including vendor selection, technology selection, manufacturing setup, product quality, supply chain, and material procurement. He has set high standards for sourcing and supply chain management, ensuring the timely commissioning of solar and wind projects.
Prior to joining Avaada Group, he was associated with BHEL and Reliance Infrastructure. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Madras University.
Ms. Radha MS is leading the Procurement team as President at Avaada Group. Working across length and breadth to devise fruitful sourcing strategies, she has been instrumental in keeping the operations running smoothly.
With her rich experience spanning four decades in Design Engineering, Procurement, and Engineering Management, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and an unwavering commitment to excellence through her expertise. Her strong expertise in Power Systems and SCADA has helped organizations navigate complex challenges.
Ms. Radha has presented numerous case studies/ papers related to Power Systems Protection at various events organized by institutions such as NTPC, CEA, Govt of India, CBIP, and others.
Prior to Avaada Group, she has worked with HCC Infrastructure, Reliance Power Limited, NTPC Ltd., and Hindustan Aeronautical Limited. She has successfully performed the role of lead engineer across various NTPC projects, including consultancy.
An IIT Mumbai Alumni, she holds a postgraduate degree in Power Systems Engineering.
Mr. Prashant Choubey, an engineering graduate from the Delhi College of Engineering, is a seasoned professional with almost three decades of experience & leads Business Development as the President at Avaada Group.
He brings in a wealth of diverse experience in managing national & international business development- South & Southeast Asia & US markets in the spectrum of solar/ renewables, hydro, & Green Hydrogen & its derivatives. Mr. Choubey’s other key competencies & interests include Energy transition, Ssustainability, Policy Advocacy, Government Relations, Regulatory, Strategic HR, employer brand & Organization building.
He played a significant role in taking the organization to the leader’s spot in offering sustainable renewable energy solutions to leading national and international corporates in India and is actively involved in Green Hydrogen & its derivatives-based project development with multiple states. Under his guidance, Avaada Group was ranked among the top 50 best companies to work for by The Times of India- Ascent. It was also ranked among the Top 10 solar companies in India by Solar Quarter magazine.
Mr. Aman Attree is a seasoned leader who brings extensive experience and strategic vision to his role as the Head of Human Resources at Avaada Group. With over 35 years of professional experience across diverse industries such as FMCG, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare, Power Sector Utilities, and Infrastructure, Aman has proven his expertise in driving organizational growth and creating customer-centric organizations.
Throughout his career, Aman has held key positions in renowned organizations, including DLF Energy, FHL, Reliance Group, HPPPL, and Greenko Group, among others.
Mr. Attree’s proficiency lies in several critical areas, including M&A (HR Due diligence post-merger Integration), Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, Strategic Change Management and Organizational Design, Organization Transformation, Talent Strategies, Leadership Capability Building, Rewards, and Sound business acumen. His expertise in these domains has contributed to the growth and success of the organizations he has worked with.
Aman holds BA (Hons) from of Delhi University , PGDBM from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and a Post Graduate Diploma in Training and Development from the ISTD
Mr. Narinder Goyal, a Chemical Engineer and postgraduate in finance, heads Green Ammonia business at Avaada Energy Private Limited (India).
A specialist in Project Management and Plant Operations, his three decades of experience in nitrogenous fertilizer sector entail successful implementation of mega projects, strategic planning, cross-functional team building, sustained plant operations, and ESG performance.
2200 MTPD blue ammonia plant, built and commissioned under his leadership in January 2019, is among the licensor’s showcased plants and the most efficient as of today. He played a significant role in achieving sustained plant operations continuously for 2 years, thus cutting down on unproductive energy losses due to undesired shutdowns.
He is a key speaker on various topics, including Ammonia technologies, effective project management, India as the next manufacturing hub and clean fuel technologies to achieve decarbonization.
He has globally travelled across the process industry, licensors’ engineering offices, and equipment manufacturers’ facilities and is known face in the ammonia industry.
He is currently working on the development and implementation of Green Hydrogen & its Derivatives like Green Ammonia, Green Methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
Ms. Jyoti Mistry heads the Secretarial and Compliance functions as Senior Vice President at Avaada Group and is responsible for secretarial and overall compliance.
She is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, done her graduation in Law from Jitendra Chauhan College, and Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
She has over 24 years of experience in secretarial and overall compliances of the Company and worked earlier with various other sectors like Manufacturing, IT-enabled services, etc.
Mr. Deepak Agrawala heads the Equity & Investor Relations and Strategy functions as Senior Executive Vice President at Avaada Group. With over two decades of experience in the financial sector, Mr. Agrawala is an unparalleled expert in Institutional Equities, Investment Banking, Fundraising, M&A and Capital Markets (IPO, OFS, QIP).
Mr. Deepak Agrawala boasts an impressive track record of over two decades working for top-tier companies such as, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Ernst and Young, CRISIL, Elara Capital and Bajaj Auto Ltd. He has been actively involved in transactions involving raising ~ US$ 10bn of capital during the journey so far by successfully advising corporates spanning across Energy & Infrastructure, Financials, Defense, Industrials and Capital Goods sectors.
He completed Mechanical Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, and a Diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI. He has earned his MBA from IIM Lucknow.
