India, with its ancient heritage and diverse culture, has been a source of valuable lessons for humanity. Throughout history, India has imparted teachings of morality, courage, honesty, faith, and a superior way of life to the world. Indian culture emphasizes core principles such as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam” (the entire world is one family), and “SarveBhavantuSukhina” (may everyone be happy).
It’s widely recognized that Indian culture places great importance on selfless acts of giving, helping others, and offering prayers without any bias. This reflects the essence of ancient India and its profound cultural values.
Leadership is a timeless concept that has been explored and practiced for millennia. While many contemporary leadership theories exist, we can also draw inspiration from ancient wisdom. The Vedic Rishis, the ancient sages of India, offer profound insights into leadership that are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. In this blog, we will explore some invaluable leadership lessons that can be gleaned from the wisdom of the Vedic Rishis.
Lesson 1: Self-Awareness and Inner Mastery
One of the fundamental teachings of the Vedic Rishis is the importance of self-awareness and inner mastery. They believed that true leadership begins with knowing oneself deeply.
Rishi Vishwamitra’s relentless pursuit of knowledge and ascetic practices exemplify self-awareness and inner mastery.
To lead others effectively, one must first lead oneself. Leaders should constantly strive to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and motivations. By mastering their own emotions and desires, they become more equipped to guide and inspire their teams.
Lesson 2: Humility and Service
The Vedic Rishis embodied the principles of humility and selfless service. They lived simple lives, often in forests, and dedicated themselves to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Narada Muni’s selfless service to Lord Vishnu and his role as a divine messenger highlight the principles of humility and service. His devotion and empathy are exemplary.
Their leadership was characterized by a genuine desire to serve humanity. Leaders today can learn from this example by putting the needs of their teams and organizations before their own ego. True leadership is not about asserting dominance but about serving others and uplifting them.
Lesson 3: Vision and Purpose
Vedic Rishis were visionaries who had a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all life. Their leadership was driven by a higher purpose – the welfare of all beings. Leaders can learn from this by cultivating a clear and inspiring vision for their organizations. A compelling vision serves as a guiding light, motivating and aligning the team toward a common goal.
Lesson 4: Adaptability and Resilience
The Rishis lived in harmony with nature, adapting to its rhythms and challenges. They understood the importance of resilience in the face of adversity. In today’s fast-paced and uncertain world, leaders must be adaptable and resilient. They should embrace change, learn from failures, and bounce back stronger, just as the Vedic Rishis did when facing the rigors of their ascetic lives.
Lesson 5: Compassion and Empathy
Compassion and empathy were central to the teachings of the Vedic Rishis. They saw all living beings as interconnected and believed in the power of compassion to heal and transform. Leaders who cultivate compassion and empathy create a more harmonious and productive work environment. They inspire trust and loyalty among their team members and foster a culture of support and collaboration.
Rishi Durvasa’s stories, while often depicting his temper, also showcase the importance of mastering one’s emotions. His ability to control his anger, when he chose to do so, exemplifies self-control and inner mastery.
Lesson 6: Continuous Learning and Growth
The pursuit of knowledge and wisdom was a lifelong journey for the Vedic Rishis. They never stopped learning and growing. Leaders should adopt a similar mindset, embracing lifelong learning and personal growth. In a rapidly evolving world, leaders who are open to new ideas and willing to adapt are more likely to succeed.
Conclusion
The leadership lessons from the Vedic Period offer timeless wisdom that can guide leaders in any era. By cultivating self-awareness, humility, vision, adaptability, compassion, continuous learning, and ethics, leaders can inspire and lead their teams to greater heights. The teachings of these ancient sages remind us that true leadership is not about power or authority; it is about service, wisdom, and the betterment of all.

In the rich heritage of Indian history, there unfolds a story that has been narrated for generations, a story that has inspired countless individuals to believe in the power of transformation and the triumph of sincere intentions. This is the story of Valmiki, a man whose journey from a feared robber to a revered sage is nothing short of miraculous.
Valmiki: The Man Behind the Legend
Valmiki was not always the sage we recognise him to be. He was once a robber, known for his ruthlessness, dwelling in a forest and robbing those who dared to traverse his path. His life was steeped in sin and violence, yet destiny had other plans for him.
One day, Valmiki encountered Narada, a great sage, and something within him stirred. He found himself questioning his life choices and, in a moment of desperation, asked Narada how he could find redemption for his sins.
Narada, seeing the sincerity in Valmiki’s eyes, advised him to chant the name of Lord Rama, a deity known for his righteousness and virtue. Valmiki, determined to change his fate, retreated to a solitary mountain and began his penance.
The Mistake that Led to Enlightenment
But Valmiki, unfamiliar with the name of Rama, made a mistake. He began chanting “Mara” instead of “Rama.” Without him knowing, “Mara,” which means death or the devil, was the exact opposite of what he was instructed to chant. Yet, he continued, day in and day out, for years, his voice echoing through the mountains, his spirit unbroken by the error.
After years of chanting, Valmiki was visited once again by Narada, who realised that despite chanting the name of the devil, Valmiki had become pure and enlightened. His intentions were so sincere, his desire for redemption so strong, that even a mistake in the technique could not hinder his spiritual journey.
Narada embraced Valmiki, his laughter resonating through the cosmos, declaring that Valmiki’s will to do good had saved him. Valmiki, the man who once instilled fear in the hearts of travellers, had transformed into a sage, his story immortalised in the annals of time.
Valmiki’s Legacy: The Ramayana
Valmiki went on to compose the Ramayana, one of the greatest epics in the world, narrating the life of Lord Rama, the very name he was supposed to chant during his penance. His story has since been a symbol of hope, redemption, and the transformative power of sincere intentions.
Lessons for the Youth: Desire, Redemption, and Transformation
Valmiki’s story is not merely a tale from the past but a timeless lesson that speaks to all, especially the youth, who are navigating through the myriad paths of life.
- Your Past Does Not Define You: Valmiki’s transformation teaches that no matter your past, you have the power to change your future through sincere efforts and intentions.
- The Power of Sincere Intentions: Even when Valmiki chanted the wrong name, his sincere desire for redemption led him to enlightenment, teaching that genuine intentions hold immense power.
- Never Too Late to Change: Valmiki shows that it is never too late to seek change, to choose a different path, and to transform your life.
- Contribution to Society: Valmiki utilised his wisdom and knowledge to create the Ramayana, contributing to society and leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.
Valmiki’s story is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path for those who seek redemption and transformation, teaching that with sincere intentions and unwavering desire, one can move mountains, even with imperfect techniques. His life and teachings continue to inspire, reminding every individual that they have the power to change, to seek redemption, and to carve a path of virtue, irrespective of their past.

In the vibrant heart of India, where dreams stretch as boundlessly as the skies, a cohort of athletes embarked on a journey that transcended mere sportsmanship, weaving a tale not just of medals won but of the incredible power of Bharat and its people, whose potent manifestation abilities turned dreams into historic reality.
Today, our chests swell with immense pride as India secures 107 medals at the Asian Games, a testament to the incredible power of our nation. Even more inspiring is the fact that Indian women, our “Nari Shakti”, have again set a precedent by clinching the historic 100th medal at the Asian Games yesterday.
The boundless potential of India’s youth—the true powerhouse of our nation—has been showcased. India has a rich history of athletes like Milkha Singh, P.T. Usha, and Dhyan Chand, who have left an indelible mark on the world stage. Today, the sports arena resonates with names like Neeraj Chopra, Jyothi Vennam, Aditi Swami, Parneet Kaur, Abhishek Verma, Dipika Pallikal, Harinder Pal Sandhu, Parul Chaudhary, Avinash Sable, and many others who brought the tally to a historic 107.
From surpassing the remarkable milestone of 61 medals in 2018 to the awe-inspiring achievement of crossing the coveted century in 2023, India has not just set records; it has shattered them.
Each momentous performance etches a new chapter in history, one that fills our hearts with unparalleled pride and admiration. This monumental achievement includes an impressive collection of 25 gold, 35 silver, and 40 bronze medals.
The genesis of their remarkable ascent is intricately intertwined with the profound power of manifestation, precise goal-setting, the undeniable force of desire, and unwavering determination.
Belief as the Catalyst: At the core of every athlete’s journey was belief – a belief in achieving the extraordinary, a belief that collective effort could shape history. Long before the first medal adorned their necks, our athletes painted vivid mental pictures of their success. With their eyes set atop the podium, they sensed the weight of the medal around their necks and dreamt of unfurling the Indian National Flag. It reflects the power of manifestation, the decision to work on it, and the power of having a clear goal and desire to achieve the aim.
Having a Clear Goal: Setting clear goals is like giving purpose to our actions, a guiding star to navigate life’s journey. It empowers us with focus, motivation, and a tangible target to work towards. The triumph of Indian athletes, winning an impressive 107 medals at the Asian Games, underscores the importance of well-defined goals. This success on the global stage is a testament to the incredible power of setting and pursuing clear goals in any endeavour. It serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us that with a defined purpose, we can overcome challenges and reach new heights.
Desire and Time: The Building Blocks of Achievement: To achieve your goals, think of desire as the foundation for creating space. The stronger your desire, the more room you make for success. Let’s say you achieve a goal in one year; that’s one year’s worth of space you’ve created. But, within that space, you’ll face challenges, like encountering reptiles and dragons. This space, which comes from desire, is what we call time. Without desire, time wouldn’t matter because it’s a desire that gives meaning to our journey.
India’s stunning achievement of winning 107 medals at the Asian Games is a testament to the profound relationship between desire, time, and success. The athletes’ burning desire to excel served as the cornerstone, creating a space for victory in their hearts.
Action and Determination: These athletes, through sweat, tears, and relentless determination, transformed their dreams into reality. They trained day in and day out, pushing their limits beyond what was thought possible. Each step they took was a step closer to the manifestation of their dreams. It is a lesson for us to work hard and achieve our dreams, to transform the dream we saw yesterday into the reality of today.
Inspiration for All: The story of these Indian athletes is not just about medals; it is about the limitless potential of the human spirit. It is about how belief, visualisation, positive energy, action, determination, and a spiritual connection can come together to manifest the extraordinary.
They are not just medal winners; they are living embodiment of what can be accomplished with unwavering dedication and belief. In their achievements, we find the collective strength to aim higher, dream bigger, and forge ahead on the path of excellence. The legacy of these athletes will continue to inspire generations, reminding us that with dedication, determination, and discipline, we can conquer anything.
In the echoes of the victories at the Asian Games, there lies a potent message for the youth of today – a message that resonates with the power of belief, the strength of determination, and the spirit of hard work.
Dear Youth of Bharat,
The victories you witnessed today were not born in the stadiums, nor were they crafted on the podiums. They were conceived in the hearts of individuals who dared to believe, who dared to dream, and who dared to reclaim the power that was inherently theirs.
Your individuality, your unique personality, and your capabilities are not just yours; they are a legacy, a torch that has been passed down through generations. It is a flame that has been kindled by the sacrifices, struggles, and victories of those who walked before you.
Bharat’s time has indeed come. The world has witnessed the abundance, the talent, and the unyielding spirit of our nation through the feats of our athletes. But remember, these athletes were once youth like you, with dreams, aspirations, and a burning desire to make a mark.
The power to manifest, to create, and to transform resides within you. It is a power that transcends physicality, breaking through the barriers of doubt, fear, and impossibility. It is a power that propels you towards your dreams, fuelling your journey with the essence of your true self.
Embrace your power, for it is in your dreams that the next chapter of our nation will be written. It is in your aspirations that the seeds of Bharat’s future will be sown. And it is in your hands that the torch of our legacy will continue to burn bright, illuminating the path for generations to come.
The abundance of Indian youth is not measured by the accolades achieved but by the spirit that refuses to be quenched, by the resolve that stands unwavering in the face of challenges, and by the belief that sees possibility where others see impossibility.
Unleash your abundance, for it is time. It is time to step into the arena of your dreams, armed with belief, adorned with determination, and empowered by the spirit of Bharat.
In your journey, may you find the strength to forge ahead, the courage to rise above, and the belief to realise your dreams. And may you continue to inspire, just as you have been inspired, for the flame of our legacy is eternal, and it burns brightly within you.
In the tales of your victories, may the world see the boundless power of Bharat’s youth, and may you continue to be the beacon of inspiration, illuminating the path for all.
Jai Hind!

In the rich panorama of India’s cultural and environmental ethos, the ‘Sanjivani Booti,’ a life-reviving herb from our revered epic, Ramayana, holds a special place. It symbolises a source of boundless energy and rejuvenation, paralleling the potential of green hydrogen in our modern pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.
As we commemorate 8 October, acknowledged as National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day (an astute nod to the atomic weight of hydrogen: 1.008), we are deeply inspired by the vision of a net-zero future. Green hydrogen emerges as our contemporary ‘Sanjivani Booti,’ pivotal in realising this vision.
India, with its rich heritage and respect for nature, has always woven its development with sustainable practices. Our ancestors, who honoured nature by nurturing various trees/plants and dedicating places of worship to various elements of nature, have bequeathed a legacy where we perceive green hydrogen as a crucial element in our journey towards net-zero emissions and a sustainable future.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been a luminary in this journey, inaugurating the National Green Hydrogen Mission in January 2023, thereby catalysing the Green Hydrogen Revolution in India. This initiative is not merely a policy but a commitment to spearhead a transformative energy sector that promises not only to fortify our national energy security but also to position India as a global leader in environmental stewardship.
We extend our sincere appreciation to MNRE for celebrating World Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day yesterday in Delhi and infusing momentum into this vital sector in recent years. The celebration has transcended boundaries, with various countries and organisations actively participating and governments worldwide investing in hydrogen infrastructure and research to accelerate its adoption.
India’s trajectory towards economic growth, universal energy access, and environmental sustainability is significantly hinged on the widespread adoption of green hydrogen technology. The supportive policies enacted by our government, coupled with India’s abundant pool of talent, place us in a favourable position to spearhead this transformative energy sector, benefiting not only our nation but the entire world.
The collective efforts of the Indian government towards making India the green hydrogen hub of the future underscore our unwavering commitment to excelling in the green energy future. We take this moment to appreciate the cohesive team from policy-making, Financial Institutions (FI) and banks, industry, and research sector for taking the lead in developing this sector and steering our nation towards a sustainable future.
Let us all unite on this National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day to pledge our commitment to a future where green hydrogen becomes the cornerstone of India’s energy landscape, ensuring not only energy security but also propelling us into a position of global environmental leadership.

In a quiet village nestled deep within a lush forest, there lived a curious young boy named Arjun. Arjun was an inquisitive and adventurous child, always eager to explore the wonders of nature that surrounded his village.
One sunny morning, armed with his trusty wooden stick and a bag of snacks, Arjun embarked on a forest adventure. As he ventured deeper, he encountered a spider working tirelessly to weave an intricate web. It was then that Arjun realized the first lesson from nature: patience and perseverance. The spider did not give up, even when the wind blew its web away; it simply started over, undeterred by setbacks.
Further along, Arjun discovered ants working together to carry food to their colony. This teamwork and cooperation among the ants taught Arjun his second lesson from nature: the power of unity. He understood that just like the ants, humans could achieve great things by working together.
As the day turned to dusk, Arjun found himself by a tranquil pond. He watched as the fish gracefully glided through the water, and the frogs croaked in the background. This scene taught Arjun his third lesson from nature: adaptability. The fish adapted to their underwater world, and the frogs were perfectly suited for both land and water. Nature, Arjun realized, taught creatures to adapt and thrive in their unique environments.
Arjun’s adventures continued year after year, each season bringing new lessons from the ever-evolving natural world. Each winter, summer, spring, rain, and autumn has a story to tell and lessons to teach.
Arjun’s tale reminds us that nature is the greatest teacher, always ready to impart its wisdom to those who seek it. We all have recited the adage, “Nature is the best teacher,” since childhood, but Arjun’s journey brought those words to life. It reminded us that nature isn’t just beautiful and soothing; it’s a profound source of life lessons.
